Hi, all the people that writted you before, do not have the smallest idea of how to make a flan. This is the traditional way of making it, hope it works. You will need,

1Lt Whole milk 6 eggs 6 egg yolks 1 stick vanilla or half tspn vanilla extract. 1 cup of sugar or as needed.

The caramel, in a heated pan put 1 cup of sugar in medium high flame and move constantly untill liquid. Put it into a mold and let cool while you do the rest of this recipie. The Custard, Mix all ingredients (you may do so in a blender) except the vainilla beans. Once it is done, put the mxture in the pan that you previously carameled, and add the vanilla beans. Set the mold in a bain marie and put it in an oven at 175ºC for up to 1 hr. Check for donnes with a knife, If it comes out clean, it is done. Another proof, is to shake it a little bit, if it feels solid, it is a good indicator. It may take as much as two hours.
