Well, there you go! You ask a simple question and get two different answers. My reference book says that a cup (dip and sweep) of all-purpose flour weighs 5 oz. and a cup of cake flour weighs 4.5 oz. I guess you will have to weigh a cup of your own flour from that 40lb. bag in order to be able to know how many cups you will get from it. Have fun! Costing out stuff can sometimes be such a drag.
