Lorna, by your e-mail address it seems that you are posting from Australia. G'day! You probably don't have Bisquick there. What it is is a pre-mixed powder which contains everything but moisture. You just add water and you get a thick batter which will make a somewhat reasonable facimile of baking powder biscuits. Over here biscuits are not cookies but are like scones or tea cakes (made without any sugar) and are used as an accompanyment to breakfast or as a topping on pot pies or as a base on which to serve creamy savory foods. I used Bisquick once on a camping trip and disliked it. Even in the woods it was just as easy to make biscuits from scratch and so much tastier. I find that any prepared mixes always taste like the box they came in!
