vanilla slice icing recipe please.

Would anyone have a recipe for the icing that you put on top of vanilla slice. The vanilla icing is put on the very top of a layer of Sao biscuits on the bottom, thick custard in the middle and another layer of sao biscuits on top. I've used just icing sugar and vanilla essence with water, it just doesn't taste rich enough. The whole thing goes into the fridge to chill. I'm from Australia Thanks Jinda.
