The following recipe is simple and works wonders for my sister who sells decorated cut-out cookies:

Confectioners Sugar Glaze (Great to drizzle on dessert cakes, muffins and cookies)

1 1/4 cups confectioners sugar 3 Tablespoons milk Stir into sugar Yield: 1/2 cup

She usually makes several batches and colors each one differently with paste food color (Wilton). Spread on baked, cooled cookies and allow to dry to a shiny look.
