Corn Dogs
Ingredients~ 12 Franks - skinless 1/3 cup cornmeal 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup milk cooking oil 1/2 cup flour 1 tablespoon sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 tablespoon shortening 1 egg.
Method~ Sift all dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Combine milk and egg, beating slightly. Pour into flour mixture, stirring until smooth.
For dipping Franks~ Pour batter into a tall glass/jug or spread into a shallow pan. Add sticks making a handle or hold Franks with kitchen tongs. Coat Franks with batter. Drop battered-Franks into hot oil, cooking until golden brown on all sides. Drain and serve hot with prepared mustard. Angel.
