Ganache is very simply 2 parts choc 1 part boiled heavy cream, that will get you in the ballpark and you can adjust with more or less choc depending on the use. You can add other things but corn syrup and oil are definately not on the list, that sounds very poor quality. I like adding almond extract . Its the basic formula for truffles too, add some softened butter when its almost cool, grand marnier or framboise etc.
